• [MOBILE] T1 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok wins 'Player of the Year' award for the second consecutive year.










T1's mid laner 'Faker' Sang-hyeok Lee has been selected as the recipient of the 'Player of the Year' award for 2024, recognizing his outstanding performance during the year.



League of Legends (LoL) esports Korean pro league, Champions Korea (LCK), announced that at the '2024 LCK Awards' held at Art Hall 1 in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul on Sunday, Faker from T1 won the titles of 'Player of the Year', 'Mid Laner of the Year', and 'OP.GG Search King', achieving a triple crown.



The LCK Awards, held for the fourth consecutive year since 2021, honor the players and teams that excelled in LoL esports throughout the year, with winners selected through votes by media, analysts, and other experts.



Lee excelled in the 'Player of the Year' category, competing against Chovy from Gen.G, Peanut from Hanwha Life Esports, and Cuzz from T1, ultimately securing the top position and being named 'Player of the Year'. Lee's exceptional performance included achieving runner-up in the 2024 LCK Spring and contributing significantly to T1's fifth championship victory at the LoL World Championship held in Europe from late September to early November. In addition to 'Player of the Year,' Lee also won the title of 'Mid Laner of the Year' and the 'OP.GG Search King' award, completing a triple crown. For these achievements, Lee received a prize of 5 million won for 'Player of the Year,' 2 million won for 'Mid Laner of the Year,' the Mighty Odin Trophy, and a lifetime premium membership on OP.GG.





The 'Rookie Of The Year,' a one-time award, went to Lucid Lee Yong-hyuk from Dynamics Kia, and the 'Best Head Coach' award was given to Kim Jeong-soo, the head coach of Gen.G, for leading his team to success.



The 'ALL LCK First Team' for the Spring Split included Kiin, Canna, Chovy, Prince, and Keria from T1, while the Summer Split's 'ALL LCK First Team' consisted of Kiin, Canna, Chovy, Prince, and Lehends. Chovy was named 'Player of the Split' for the Spring Split, Prince for the Summer Split, and Chovy was also selected as the regular season MVP for his outstanding performances in both splits. The 'Merit Award' went to the English caster, Atlus.



The 'Player of the Year' awards for each position went to the key players from T1 who won the 2024 LoL World Championship: Zeus, Owner, Faker, Guma Yushi, and Keria were named 'Player of the Year' for their respective positions. Each position's 'Player of the Year' received a prize of 2 million won.



Special awards presented by the companies sponsoring LCK were also announced. The winners included Aiming for the Logitech G Best Power Play Award, Guma Yushi and Keria for the Golden Dew Soul of the Duo Award, Kellen for the JW Chukbang Lighting Valley Awakening Award, Teddy for the Musinsa Stylish Play of the Year, Canna for the LG UltraGear Best Objective Stealer Award, Hanwha Life Esports for the Global Marketing Award, Joengjun Jun for the Veterans of All Award, Owner and Lucid for the Bank of Korea Gold King Award. The LCK special awards were given to Teddy for the Best Showmanship Award and ShowMaker for the potential LCK Thumbnail Award.



Following his triple crown win, Faker Sang-hyeok from T1, who won 'Player of the Year,' stated, "Throughout 2024, I faced strong opponents and challenges, but thanks to my T1 teammates, I was able to achieve good results. It is an honorable privilege to receive the Player of the Year award, and I will continue to strive for excellence next year."



After a successful 2024, LCK will kick off 2025 with the League of Legends '2025 Season 1: Invitation to Noxus' Season Opening Event on January 10th in RolPark, Seoul, marking the start of the official schedule.
