• [MOBILE] "[G-STAR 2024] Dragonfly unveils 'Special Forces Remastered'!"

Dragonfly, the pioneer of the FPS market, unveiled 'Special Force Remastered' for the first time at G-Star 2024, taking a strong step towards regaining its position as a leading FPS developer.

The remastered version of Special Force, which will be exclusively presented at the B2B booth in Busan BEXCO, is expected to showcase a new era of FPS gaming experience by combining the fast-paced gameplay of 'Special Force', which led the FPS genre 20 years ago, with innovative graphics using the latest Unreal Engine and modern tactical elements.

In recent years, FPS games such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, CrossFire, and Sudden Attack have shown strong performances in the market. However, Dragonfly's Special Force, which can be considered a pioneer in the FPS game genre, lost its market share to competitors due to insufficient major updates and graphics improvements, despite its excellent gameplay. In particular, the company faced a management crisis in 2014 due to issues with its largest shareholders, which weakened its position in the market.

Under the leadership of the newly appointed management team, Dragonfly has been rapidly stabilizing its business operations and seeking new opportunities through the release of new mobile games, aiming to restore its past glory. The release of 'Special Force Remastered' is expected to serve as a key signal for this business stabilization, marking an important milestone for the company's reentry into the global market.

'Special Force', a PC online FPS game representing Dragonfly, has been serviced in over 90 countries worldwide, including Southeast Asia, China, North and South America, and Europe, since its launch in Korea in 2004, gaining global popularity. The upcoming 'Special Force Remastered' is being overseen by Park Chul-seung, the founder of Dragonfly and the director who directly developed 'Karma' and 'Special Force'.

Park Chul-seung (Executive Producer)

Executive Producer Park Chul-seung said, "In this remaster, we maintained the fast-paced gameplay that was the strength of Special Force, while implementing realistic battlefields, special forces uniforms, weapons, and more with the latest Unreal Engine. This remaster will captivate the next generation of players and bring back the original excitement for long-time fans."

Dragonfly plans to unveil the alpha version of the remastered map 'Desert Camp', the representative map of 'Special Force', for the first time at G-Star 2024. The company aims to complete the full remaster work and a beta version with new systems by the second half of 2025.

Executive Producer Park Chul-seung said, "Special Force Remastered is a symbolic game that announces the revival of Dragonfly and a dedication to our fans. Based on our new business vision and technological capabilities, we will strive to once again take a central position in the FPS genre."

This 'Special Force Remastered' is expected to be an important work that goes beyond simple remastering, representing Dragonfly's strong determination for the game market and establishing new growth momentum.
